Prior to 2001, PFPC developed several
technology platforms to deliver the range of services clients demanded.
These platforms were managed as independent system silos. By providing
an enterprise-wide open architecture, the Global Enterprise Platform
(GEP) transforms the limitations of formerly disparate systems into
an advantage for our clients:
| • |
The GEP abstracts and separates these systems
into components, and then unifies them horizontally across independent
presentation, middleware, business logic and data tiers. |
| • |
Through the use of open standards (e.g., Web
services, WSDL/SOAP, XML, J2EE), this approach enables a far
simpler, seamless integration of virtually any configuration
of components, systems and applications. |
| • |
It also provides improved scalability because
tiers can be scaled up or down independently; changes to one
layer do not require changes to other layers. |
| • |
Further, the isolation of data from business
logic improves security and enables data to be leveraged for
business intelligence, business performance monitoring and CRM.
